Abstract
The diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation of the talent management system in a selected manufacturing company. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze the current setup of the talent management system, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and propose recommendations for its further development based on the findings. The research is grounded in the theoretical framework of strategic human resource management and current trends in talent management, with an emphasis on its process-oriented and systemic approach.
The empirical part of the thesis is based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Specifically, a questionnaire survey among employees involved in the talent management system, semi-structured interviews with selected employees and managers, and an analysis of internal company documents were conducted. The collected data were processed using descriptive statistical analysis, comparative analysis, and gap analysis.
The results indicate that the talent management system in the selected company has a formally well-structured framework and utilizes modern employee development tools. However, certain shortcomings were identified, particularly in the perceived objectivity of talent identification, the strong dependence on managers, and the limited linkage between development activities and specific job tasks.
Based on these findings, recommendations are proposed to enhance system transparency, strengthen data-driven decision-making, develop a unified methodological framework, and better align development activities with practical organizational needs. The contribution of the thesis lies in a comprehensive evaluation of the talent management system within a specific manufacturing context and in proposing measures to improve its effectiveness.
