Abstract
This thesis contains a general view of the electronic-technological diagnosis of insulation systems, focusing primarily on the use of measurement of partial discharges inside HV cables. It defines basic concepts, methods used, and the diagnostic values obtained to evaluate the insulation condition. Furthermore, nature of partial discharges is discussed, their types and characteristics. An entire chapter is devoted to the degradation effects influencing the insulation system of HV cables, where the main part is represented by partial discharges. The last chapter focuses on the measurement of partial discharges, methods, and their advantages and disadvantages. Thanks to the cooperation with the diagnostic department of the ČEZ distribution company, you can learn about the current measuring car, featuring the latest diagnostic equipment called OWTS using the partial discharges.
