Abstract

The goal of this thesis is to research all available simulation tools and to understand the ns3-mmwave simulation tool, including how to install it and how to use its logging functionality to identify errors during simulations. Additionally, the thesis examines the components of the simulation tool, their functionality, and the process of creating custom simulations that incorporate all necessary elements. Another goal is the design of a laboratory exercise intended for use by students. This laboratory exercise will simulate a 5G network with options for scheduler selection, changing numerology for OFDM scaling, and employing carrier aggregation. Finally, the thesis includes an evaluation of the simulation results based on predefined parameters.
