Abstract
The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to analyze features of an induction motor and also features of a soft-starter device from which the particular motor is connected, on the basis of the analyses, prepared models and consequent simulations. Simulation models and all the analyses were designed for the drive unit with induction motor with short-circuit armature, where some simplifying assumptions, including the neglect of electromagnetic phenomena, were also applied. There were two induction motors used for the solutions and simulation. Simulation models were developed in the follow-up part of the software of Matlab - Simulink, version 7.8.0, by using the available blocks in the library with the support of m-file compiled in the Matlab itself.
In the particular simulation models, there was successive de-simulation of the courses of output values depending on the time and rotation speed for different variants of the courses related to output voltage from the soft starter and for different variants of the working mechanism torques. This is how we verified the correctness of the preparation and processing of the mathematical and simulation model of the induction motor connected from the soft starter as well as an analysis of their features with the possibility of using the results presented for comparison with the data of drives related to the soft starter implemented in practice.
