Abstract

In this work are presented the results of the study of the mechanical properties of the composite plates of different tool steels of various rolling semi-finished products resulting from the number of layers, which are a combination of a non-stabilised austenitic chromium-nickel steel X5CrNi 18-10 (AISI 304, ČSN 17240) and the new experimental stainless tool steel 55C15N. The work is a preparation of its 55C15N steel by smelting in an electric vacuum furnace, rolling into sheets, providing heat treatment to a hardness of 57 HRC. Furthermore, it describes the preparation of sandwiches with number 3, 5 and 7 layers by rolling, and their mechanical properties after hardening and tempering. It also evaluates the microstructure and fractography of fractures from mechanical tests.
