Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present what it takes to organize a judo tournament series and to describe in detail one of its selected competitions. The first part of the thesis focuses on defining the theoretical concepts needed for the following practical part. The second part of the thesis deals with the preparation and organization of the tournament series and also one selected competition. The thesis evaluates the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the race by means of research investigations. Observation, personal interview and SWOT analysis methods have been used for the research investigation and the thesis includes financial evaluation of the selected race. The final section summarizes the results and findings of the research investigations. From the results, recommendations and suggestions for organizers to improve future tournament series are drawn.
