Vybrané aspekty protipovodňového opatření v povodí horní Opavy

Abstract

Dana Gojná Chosen aspects of flood control in the river-basin of upper Opava This work concentrates on problems of flood control development in upper Opava river flow. During the last few years there have been climate changes not only in the Czech Republic but also in whole Europe. Upper Opava river flow is one of the most affected areas in the Czech Republic. It also focuses on the development of flood control in the affected area since 1997 as in this year there was one of the most disastrous flood in our country. All suggested variants are mentioned together with all their advantages and disadvantages. We are also informed about the final government decision. The result of the work is finding the impact of building on the environment and population. The approved form of smaller Nové Heřmínovy dam in the combination with other precautions will have negative impacts on the environment. Most of all it will destroy a large area of good quality fertile soil. On the other side, it will have a positive impact on the population concerning the decrease of unemployment and the improvement of infrastructure and facilities in the village. From long time point of view, it is a great opportunity for the village to draw attention and help with its development.
