Abstract

This diploma thesis is applied to metallic porous materials, their properties and their use, mainly in industry. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on the practical use of metal foams from transport and civil engineering to design and art. The thesis describes particular alternatives of foundry production of metal foams and in details it focuses on the production using the Lost Foam method. The experimental part of this work follows on from the theoretical part describing the method Lost Foam. The samples with a regular pattern were made using this method. These samples were subsequently subjected to a pressure and tensile test and metallographic analysis.
