RNDr. Karla Barcova, Ph.D. This thesis is focused at the topic of radiation protection at workplaces working with mammographs. In the theoretical part the setup of mammography X-ray system is described, with explanation of the mammography image formation, differences between screening and diagnostic mammography and theoretical principles of radiation protection. The focus of the practical part of this thesis, is to assess the current state of radiation protection in Czech Republic, based on the measurements collected on six local mammography workspaces, especially focusing on measured values of equivalent dose.
