Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of selected personal protective equipment on the effectiveness of hearing protectors during firearm shooting. The aim of the thesis is to experimentally verify how individual combinations of protective equipment, particularly safety glasses, headgear, and earmuff-type hearing protectors, affect the resulting noise attenuation. Measurements were carried out under real shooting range conditions using available measuring equipment, while sound pressure levels were monitored within selected frequency bands. The results indicate that an inappropriate combination of protective equipment can significantly reduce the effectiveness of hearing protectors, primarily due to the disruption of their seal. The thesis also provides practical recommendations in the field of safety during shooting.
