Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the use of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROV) in the activities of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis describes the current system of water rescue within the FRS of the Czech Republic, including the organisation of operations, legislative framework and specialised units. Subsequently, an analysis of water-related incidents is carried out in order to identify the limitations of current technical means used for searching persons under the water surface. The thesis further focuses on underwater drone technology and its potential use in underwater search and inspection operations, particularly with the use of sonar systems. The work also presents foreign experience with the use of such technologies by rescue services and includes the results of a questionnaire survey. Based on these findings, a proposal was developer for the use of underwater drones within the Fire and Rescue Service of the Czech Republic.
