Vliv hornické činnosti na západní oblast Krušných hor

Abstract

This thesis examines the influence of mining on the western part of the Ore Mountains. It describes the history of mining and quarrying in different locations west of the Ore Mountains and the formation of the most important mining towns. Special attention is given to the Jáchymov city as a major center of mining history with global significance. The period from the beginning of tin panning to uranium mining in the area of interest in the 1960s is compiled here. The thesis also deals with the impact and potential risks of mining activity with the influence of radioactivity on air, soil and water resources.
