Abstract
The thesis is dedicated to a comprehensive examination of legal information, legal information systems, and students' legal skills. It is divided into several chapters, the first of which focuses on legal information, including both official and unofficial sources. The second chapter introduces and compares various legal information systems such as Codexis, ASPI, and Beck-online, assessing their usefulness for legal education. The third chapter analyzes students' relationships with legal information and the use of legal information systems in law education. The final chapter includes research evaluating students' legal skills.
The main objective of the thesis is to evaluate how effectively students from the economics faculty of VSB-TUO search for legal information, what legal skills they possess, and what their preferences are regarding legal information systems. The work utilizes methods of comparison, surveys, observation, and experiments to verify several hypotheses concerning students' legal skills.
The results of the study show that despite the variety of available legal information systems, students tend to prefer those that are most accessible and easy to operate. The thesis also considers the potential of artificial intelligence in legal education and practice, where the author compares the outcomes of AI experiments. Findings suggest that AI can be a useful tool but still requires careful monitoring of responses. This work contributes to a better understanding of how students' legal skills develop and what factors influence their ability to effectively use legal information in a modern legal environment.
