Regionální politika skupiny Czech Coal v Ústeckém kraji

Abstract

The main objective of the thesis is to describe and assess the company policy that the Czech Coal Group advocates across the Ústecký Region. A special emphasis is put on the relation between this regional policy and the company effort to extend mining operations beyond the mining limits set by the Czech government in 1991. The development of shareholder’s ownership and mining production is described in the first part. Then, mining sites are characterized as well as the current state of reclamation works. Furthermore, an overview of particular regional activities that form the company policy is given with regard to the mining outlook at the mining sites. Subsequently, regional company policy is analyzed including an economic assessment of PR activities, assessment of public opinion, and assessment of the company image that has been established by the public media. Finally, an overall evaluation of the company policy is carried out with a special attention to the possibility of extending mining operations beyond the mining limits.
