Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to develop software for measurement and recording of a surface elec-tromyographic signal and its implementation into the embedded system of a monitoring device prototype for measuring local muscular load for the purpose of ergonomic examinations. The introduction of this work was focused on the analysis of the technology for recording the elec-trical potential of muscle activity and the specification of the integrated circuit, ADS129x, which is used for the measurements. In the next step, a software solution was designed and implemented which, within the prototype of the device, assures EMG signal acquisition from the body surface and subsequent transfer and storage of the data to a memory card. The opera-tion of the program was verified by a set of experimental measurements, and the data obtained were then transferred to a PC for successive filtration, processing and representation for evalu-ation purposes. The final solution represents a function of the reference measurement of the surface EMG signal, extending the possibilities of a real autonomous monitoring device that has the potential to be used in ergonomic research, as well as in the industry for the prevention of health complications arising from conditions where there exists an increased application of manual activity in the work process.
