Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the method of soil compaction using blasting, which is still evolving from the findings of successfully implemented projects around the world. The theoretical part of the introduction focuses mainly on historical projects carried out in the last century, from which the acquired knowledge of the methodology of carrying out blast compaction is implemented in future projects. The following chapter specifies in more detail the initial conditions of the area of interest, the duration of the compaction process, the classification of blasthole placement including suitable explosives and the soil response after detonation. The theoretical section concludes with an overview of specific projects carried out in recent years using the above method, which also includes geotechnical monitoring of the site and limiting the impact of negative effects on the environment. The practical part is devoted to the calculations of blasting with different parameters, which are compared and evaluated together with the acquired knowledge of the explosive compaction method.
