Abstract
The thesis aims to define the scope of public health insurance in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic and to compare the economic and legal conditions for the functioning of health insurance payers as paid services for its insured. A partial goal is to evaluate the management of the General Health Insurance Company in the Czech Republic and General Health Insurance Company in the Slovak Republic in the years 2009 to 2013. The thesis is based on theoretical knowledge of development and basic types of health care systems in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The work deals with public health insurance in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. In the practical part are characterized by both healthcare providers and health insurance system of farming.
