A study of the phase boundary between the metallic and the vitreous phase showed that the intermediate layer on which the mutual adhesion depends, consists of glass-metallic clustered complexes. The adhesive power is primarily provided by metals of the transient group which constitute the centres of poly-nuclear clustered complex compounds.
