Abstract

Ing. Vladislav Křivda, Ph.D. The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the analysis of the road safety at the intersection Michalkovicka – Hladnovska in Ostrava and the appropriateness of the current arrangement after rebuilding the intersection to the roundabout. In the first part there are description of the location, wider transport relations, issues including justification for reconstruction and a description of the past and the present building arrangements. In the second part there are the evaluation conducted traffic surveys, which were conducted before and after the reconstruction and analysis of the traffic accidents and conflict situations. Based on obtained values from the traffic surveys, there are conducted capacity calculations of the past, current and prospective state. In the last section, there are performed traffic simulations and the proposed changes including their solutions and evaluation of the current state.
