Abstract

My bachelor thesis is focused on the Spa - Tourism in Southern Moravia. It is divided into three parts: the first chapter contains an overall theoretical introduction in tourism which is tightly connected with spa tourism as it is one of its forms. Another chapter deals with the spa tourism itself: not only it describes the situation in the whole Czech Republic, but also the its six chosen spa centres in Southern Moravia. In the last chapter there is detailed information about Hodonin spa, Sulphureous spa Ostrožská Nová Ves from the economical point of view. Facts about attendance, spa treatment payments, days of therapies as well as illnesses and ailments being treated in both centres mentioned above are to be found here. This data is compared at the end of the chapter.

When processing the information for the theoretical part of the thesis I used specialized literature, publicity material as well as Internet web pages. As far as the practical part is concerned, I was provided with the internal information by the spa facilities Hodonín and Ostrožská Nová Ves themselves. As the survey showed, despite the fact that the Ostrožská Nová Ves spa resort has been on the Czech market place much longer, the Hodonin spa centre is better from all the points of view researched.
