Abstract
The thesis discusses the issue of housing association and housing programs. It displays historical and legal issues of housing association in Slovakia, creation and establishment of housing association and its authorities. It compares the particular legal forms of business with the association. Attention is paid to the characteristics of the individual terms. The main chapter is the characterization of the housing support system. This system is mediated through the State Housing Development Fund, whose founder is the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development. In connection with the need for comprehensive renewal of residential buildings there are individual support programs available in Slovakia and the Czech Republic analyzed and compared. Cooperation with the housing association providing the necessary information to process this thesis was an important part of this work.
