Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate an effectiveness of selected small and medium-sized enterprises in the Moravian-Silesian Region using DEA models and to propose suggestions for possible improvements or recommendations for their more efficient operation. The partial goal is to compare the results of the different DEA models and to compare the inefficient units that emerged from these models. The thesis contains theoretical background of DEA model construction, definition of small and medium enterprises as well as possibilities of their support. The CCR-input, BCC-input and ZSG-DEA models are applied in the practical part. The Ishikawa diagram will be used in the work to find the main causes and the subsequent formulation of recommendations. In conclusion, the final summary is made and possible extensions are proposed for further investigation of this thesis.
