Abstract

Polymer waste has a long life generally, and it is therefore necessary to find an adequate secondary use for it. The content of this work is a description of the EPM and EPDM rubber properties in comparison with other rubber types, an introduction of the leading manufacturers of this material, and of the individual industries where rubber compounds are used the most, which is the source of the highest amount of rubber waste production. To get a better understanding of the waste production in manufacturing, the process of rubber production and the methods of vulcanization are described. Only after the description of the production process, including future waste created, the methods for sorting, preparation and processing of products for secondary use are described, including the description of the new product and of companies involved in waste processing.
