Abstract

The aim of this master’s thesis is the analysis and application of distributed optical fiber systems DTS (Distributed Temperature Sensor) and DSTS (Distributed Strain and Temperature Sensor), followed by the statistical evaluation of the measured results. The theoretical part summarizes current methods of temperature and mechanical strain measurement used in civil engineering and at the same time describes the operating principles of optical fiber sensors with a focus on distributed systems. The practical part includes the implementation of experimental measurements at the CPIT TL3 test site, both under various operational conditions of the building and during controlled thermal loading of a selected structural element, with monitoring of temperature changes and mechanical strain.
