Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with alternative energy sources for sensor power supply and measurement of alternative power supply characteristics for energy harvesting units. The thesis deals with the theoretical description of usable types of energy, functional principles and alternative power sources in terms of their properties and deployment in various applications. Furthermore, the work is focused on the description of commercial integrated energy harvesting circuits designed to process energy from alternative energy sources. The work also includes procedures for measuring the characteristics of alternative energy sources and their measurement in connection with energy harvesting circuits.
