The thesis focuses on finding a new use for the undeveloped area adjacent to Masaryk Square. The goal of the design is to fully utilize the space on the site of a former block of buildings that was demolished in the late 1950s. This thesis includes a proposal for an urban and architectural solution for the vacant lot in the historic center of Ostrava. The result is the construction of a museum building. The design responds in form to the surrounding buildings and preserves green space in the center of Ostrava rather than completely filling and enclosing the block.
