Návrh softwarové aplikace pro měření útlumových charakteristik optických vláken

Abstract

The thesis is about design of the application for measurment and monitoring the attenuation of optical fiber. Labview was used as a programme development environment for design of the application. This software offers common measurement tools and functions to build instruments for hardware communication, measurement and control. Attenuation is a parameter of optical fiber and it is a result of glass fiber absorbing the energy of the light during transmission. By measurement of attenuaton we may specify the conditions or environment for optical fibers usage and consider the specific conditions that lead to attenuation growing. In this case, it’s about the terms that lead to accelerated aging of optical fiber, to be more specific due to radiation and gamma radiation influence. The purpose of the measurement system is to measure the value of output power of the selected optical fibers, which are exposed to radiation and monitor them during the entire process. The final part of the work was the measurement realization in ÚJV - Řež, via the measurement system and created application. The result of this part is vizualization of data gained by measurement and data analysis.
