Abstract

USE OF THE EU STRUCTURAL AID IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC IN THE FRAME OF THE OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME ENVIRONMENT Bc. Jana Kovářová One most considerable policy of the EU is Cohesion policy. Its prime objective is reducing of regional disparities of the least developed EU regions and boosting economic, social and territorial cohesion. The objective of my thesis is, first, to delimitate theoretical solutions of programmes and projects cofinanced within the framework of the EU Structural funds in the context of regional development and consequently the theoretical conception to apply upon the selected example of the project intention. In term of structure my thesis is divided into three chapters inclusive of introduction and conclusion. Chapter Two of my thesis embodies the theoretical delimitation of Cohesion policy and the project management methodology in the EU. Foremost the attention is focused on the matter and signification of Cohesion policy in the EU, the outline of its history, specification of tools and objectives and in more detail there is focus on current programming period 2007 – 2013. Chapter Three treats of environment problems from the EU point of view of. The introduction of the chapter is focused on EU Environmental policy along with its primary objectives, principles and tools. The pivotal point of Chapter Three is Operational Programme Environment and its detailed analysis. The contents of Chapter Four is the particular description of the project with its prior Zlin region socioeconomic analysis. The project title is “ The sewer system and waste water treatment plant in Jablůnka “ and is implemented in the village of Jablunka in the Zlin region. I selected the village of Jablůnka intentionally by reason that I live here and I am an indirect participant of the project.
