Abstract

Job satisfaction significantly affects labour force, which is a valuable resource for determining prosperity and competitive ability of business. It is therefore obvious that efforts to improve employee satisfaction is one of the primary tasks of management. The subject of job satisfaction is put into the broader context through the analysis of theoretical approaches in the first part of the thesis. In the logical continuity, the attention is then paid to the question how job satisfaction is reflected in corporate reality, when the relationship between job satisfaction, performance, turnover and absenteeism is described. As a starting point for implementation of the application important factors are identified which influence the level of job satisfaction. The crucial part is devoted to a description of the preparation and implementation of a research aimed at finding out the overall level of job satisfaction and also of satisfaction with various factors and components of the factors involved in its formation. Two grammar schools were subjected to this research, whose output is a set of measures designed to improve management of school facilities in order to affect positively the area of job satisfaction.
