Abstract

This bachelor thesis adresses the issue of the pension system in the Czech Republic and the possibilities of individual provision for old age. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the functioning of the current system and to compare the impacts of different forms of retirement security using model examples. The theoretical part describes the principles of the pension system, its structure and key factors influencing it. The practical part focuses on calculating pensions for three model individuals and analyzing supplementary provision through savings and investments. Based on the results, the important role of an individual approach to retirement savings is highlighted. The thesis provides recommendations on how to achieve a stable and sustainable income in old age.
