Abstract

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the economic efficiency of future investment project in EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, Plc. The main aim of the project is to select an appropriate option from solving the problem of existing steel manufacturing facilities, because manufacturing facilities will require overhaul in 2015 due to reaching the end of their useful life and current situation does not meet future legislative requirements for the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control and related environmental conditions on the operation of the steelworks. In the theoretical part are defined terms enterprise, entrepreneurship, investment and their classification, investment decisions, sources of funding, parameters a evaluation of investment projects and is characterized the economic criteria evaluation of investment project, especially static and dynamic criteria for project evaluation. In the practical part are applied theoretical findings to the selected investment projects. There is introduced company, investment project. In this connection, the company analyzes the possible alternative solutions, which include the overhaul of existing oxygen converters, replacement converters of electric arc furnaces and extreme variation as a closing steel works. The various possible solution are described, determined cash flows and defined economic evaluation criteria. Modernization of steelworks in the form of above options was considered especially in relation to the net present value of company and as complementary criteria was use to the internal rate of return and profitability index. The project is financed by own resources, so the calculation are given for unencumbered project. The outcome of this work is the recommendation, that a variant solution is the best for the company.
