Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the design and solution of airbag elements in the vehicle interior. In this case passenger airbag. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I have described the types of airbags used in the vehicle and the applicable regulations for vehicles using airbags are given. Furthermore, the problems of airbag installation are discussed, the functionality of this system is explained, prototypes of airbags are mentioned, their development, the position of the airbag in the vehicle, its covering. In the practical part of the thesis, the selection of an airbag suitable for testing its covering was addressed. Tests of airbag covering using different manufacturing technologies are carried out. The tests are captured on a high-speed camera. The functionality of the airbag covering elements with respect to the vehicle crew is evaluated. Subsequently, all types of tests are evaluated and an acceptable way to solve the problem is defined.
