Abstract
The thesis is focused on the development of the properties of blast furnace slags. In the first part of thesis is the formation of slag in the blast furnace, its composition and properties. There is also described a slag reduction in the coke bed of a blast furnace as a significant phase of the total reduction process. The second part analyzes and evaluates technical resources and technological processes in the field of blast furnace slag and its chemical composition and specific properties. It includes the effect of changes in the quality of blast furnace charge and the possibility of injection fluxes in to the tuyeres. The following part is the processing and utilization of blast furnace slag. The third part is devoted to the influence of the quantity and properties of the slag on blast furnace process. They are specified relationship to simplify the calculations real voids coke layer and its critical value, which is related to the breathability of the charge and the counterflow of blast furnace. The filling space in the charge is a condition of productivity and technological efficiency of blast furnace. The conclusion summarizes the literary findings and assumptions for future development.
