Rozvoj statutárního města Ostrava s využitím strukturálních fondů EU

Abstract

The central theme of bachelor thesis is the use of the European Union funds in the development of the Statutory City Ostrava. The introduction describes the Policy of the Economic and Social Cohesion, its history, objectives, instruments and implementation of the policy in the Czech republic. There is also the theme of urban development, which closely related with the City of Ostrava. After that follows the social-economic characteristics of the Ostrava City and the description of its Strategic development plan for the period 2009 - 2015. The third part deals with the implementation of projects financed from EU structural funds in the Ostrava City. Specifically, the use of EU funds by the city of Ostrava is analyzed on the basis of three projects. It is the Revitalization project of the Svinov Railway Station Area, 2nd phase, financed from the Regional Operational Programme NUTS II Moravskolsezsko, further is the Optimization of the process the Department of Economic Development of Ostrava City Hall in the Operational Programme Human Resources and Employment and finally Ekotermo I., financed from the Operational Programme Environment. These three Operational Programs were chosen deliberately - they are one of the operational programs, from which it draws most of Ostrava City funds.
