Posouzení korozní odolnosti slitiny INCONEL 600 při použití ve výfukovém prostředí automobilů

Abstract

The bachelor degree examination thesis “The Evaluation of Corrosion Resistance of Inconel 600 Alloy in Car Exhaust Gases“ deals with corrosion degradation of nickel alloy thermocouple Inconel 600. For production of thermocouples used in aggressive environment of exhaust gases of cars, it is desirable to select materials that are capable of retaining required characteristics for a specified lifetime. The suitable materials for this application is the nickel alloys of INCONEL type. However, even these materials are not immune to the degradation properties, especially against hot corrosion. But selecting the proper alloy can extend the life of products without significant signs of damage. The aim of this work is to evaluate the Inconel 600 alloy used for thermocouple manufacturing and eventualy replace it with another type of nickel alloy Inconel.
