Abstract

Tourism is one of the major components of the current account deficit, particularly in the services balance. Tourism affects the economy in the Czech Republic and in other developed countries. The aim of this thesis was to find out, with macroeconomic indicators, which affects the tourism economy of the CR and analyze the impact of tourism on the environment. The second chapter is the theoretical basis of tourism. The influence of tourism on the economy of the Czech Republic is described in Chapter Three. The effect on the economy in the Czech Republic can be determined by the selected macroeconomic indicators, such as the contribution of tourism to GDP and the share of tourism in total employment or the share of tourism on the balance of payments. The fourth chapter deals with the impacts of tourism on the environment. Tourism on the environment is positively and negatively. Positive influences are, for example, revenue from services in the tourism industry. Negative issues relate primarily to pollution and natural beauty of the landscape waste, landfills, vandalism. The final chapter identifies the potential of tourism in the Czech Republic.
