Abstract

This thesis is aimed at the 6xxx series of aluminium alloys with emphasis on mechanical and technological properties. Methods of heat treatment and their influence on the properties of the 6xxx series aluminium alloys are described. Attention is also payed to practical applications of these alloys, comparison with conventional materials and benefits of such use. Second, the experimental part of the work deals with a specific aluminium alloy EN AW-6082, structural analysis and examines its processing and use in the automotive industry.
