Abstract

There is a survey made about the use of the gas fuels (LPG and CNG) in the submitted work, especially for the propel motors of vehicles moving predominantly in the cities with higher traffic concentration, where the efforts to restore the living environment becomes the motivation. The effects of the compensation of the oil by gas fuels are emphasized in the first part. In comparison with the diesel engine, on condition of suitable setting and balancing of the spark ignition gas motor, it is possible to observe especially total disappearance of the motor smokiness, considerable cutting down on solids (PM), reduction of emission of the fuel harmful substances in the motor exhaust gas and, last but not least, reduction of the roaring. These are the basic aspects of the gas motors effectiveness. The calculation of the economical contribution is subsequently incorporated into the second part, where there is referred to the fact, that also this respect can have a positive impact on the overall assessment of the gas fuels for the engines of local transport busses. Though the implementing of the gas exploitation for the city busses requires sizable workshop adjustments, air-exhausting provisions in the objects or garages in the open space, and more financially exacting building of the tanks and reloading stations, this solution arises to be more expensive and technically demanding for the LPG busses. These facts are brought out in the conclusion of the work.
