Vývoj kvality ovzduší v Mostě

Abstract

In this work there is described development of air quality at local level, i.e. at the level of the cadastral area of the statutory town of Most. I tried to notice the changing character of air pollution during the last approx. 20 years, the causes of these changes and current problems and trends. Stress is put primarily on polluting substances which occur in over-limit concentrations. It concerns especially the suspended particles of PM10 fraction. With regard to this fact the territory of the town of Most and actually the whole territory of the Northbohemian Coal Basin are included in regions with impaired air quality. In conclusion there are described measures carried out in order to improve air quality and there are also suggested new measures with estimation of their contribution for improvement of local air quality. Suggested measures must restrict pollution of air to maximum possible level and hence provide compliance with valid legislative requirements and priorities of the region of Ústí. These are effective prevention, ecological education, enlightenment as well as particular technical-administrative measures which should lead to improvement of air quality and environment as a whole and hence to improve living comfort of local inhabitants.
