Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with construction proposal of the rivet tongs to be used and tested for riveting by semi-hollow rivets. In this theses the current situation of rivet usage in automotive industry is described. The research of the top modern methods related to cold connecting of the car body and the general description of the riveting by semi-hollow rivets are presented as well. After that the device based on pneumo-hydraulic cylinder used for riveting was put into operation. Next step was to propose the rivet tongs construction and also to verificate the toughness of the tongs. The samples from aluminium alloy were prepared and their strength characteristic was tested.
