Abstract

In theoretic part, the thesis deals with the description of wood as a building material, with the division and attribute of the most used structural systems of wooden structures and subsequent evaluation of these structures in the Czech Republic and abroad. The thesis also deals with the whole process from reasons of start of fire to protection of wooden structures during the fire. In the main part, the thesis looks into the progress and results of fire resistance testing according to current norms. On the basis of the test results, the thesis at the end suggests material solution of wooden structures and the rules for establishing the fire resistance.
