Abstract
The thesis deals with the issue of organic waste from metallurgical industry in the Ostrava region. The four companies concerned are the major metallurgical companies in this region: ArcelorMittal Ostrava, a.s., TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a.s., EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. and ŽDB GROUP, a.s.
The thesis deals with organic kinds of waste, especially those which originate in coking plants and rolling mills. There is a description of these kinds of waste, their impact on man’s health and on the environment, and also possible ways of their disposal.
