Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the design of the layout solution of a residential building made of wood-based materials. The work also includes the development of wooden buildings over the years, as well as the design and assessment of selected critical load-bearing structural elements and joints. The thesis clearly presents the documents for the calculation and design of the structure. For the calculation of internal forces, a computational model was created in the SCIA Engineer program, which operates on the basis of the finite element method. The selected load-bearing elements and joints are assessed for both ultimate and serviceability limit states. All assessed load-bearing components are designed to be as efficient as possible while fulfilling their function throughout their service life. The diploma thesis also includes the drawing documentation of the building.
