Abstract

This thesis is concerned with an operation of a water distribution network and development of a failure rate in Ostrava the ten - year period 2000 - 2010. At the beginning, the way of water supply and the water distribution network as well as its present - day condition is decsribed. Then, a description of the water network tubular materials and their theoretical lifetime follow, the age of the water network according to the material and the network lenght according to age is presented. The next part describes dynamics of the water network reconstruction according to a proportional division and pressure zones with a monitoring zones division. Another charter is devoled to fault water network defects and circumstances influencing the failure rate and their registration follow. Water network loss with an introduction of a way of a localization of defects, including a drinking water quality with the turn of complaints and possible ways of the water network repair works are described. The next charter describes the problems of drinking water quality influenced by the state water supply. An overview of methods to repair water mains failures. Finally, the water network operation and the evaluation of possibilities and conditions for the water network recontruction with a suggestion for dynamics of the reconstruction and opinions of the water network failure rate depending on tubular material age are mentioned.
