Abstract
This bachelor focuses on the design and implementation of a trap for the invasive hornet species. The objective was to create a trap capable of automatically detecting the presence of a hornet inside, capturing an image using a camera module, and sending the captured data to a specialist via an IoT network.
The trap is built on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W platform and uses email communication to inform the specialist and receive commands for the potential release of captured insects.
The trap was experimentally verified and demonstrated the ability to effectively monitor the presence of invasive insects. The trap can contribute to a rapid response to their spread and help protect native species. The bachelor also evaluates possibilities for future development and optimization of the entire system.
