Abstract

The thesis is concerned with the evaluation of financing self-services, which the municipality of Hodonín provides, according to comparison of the self-revenues and grants on the one hand with costs (overheads and capital) on the other. The theoretic part discusses communal self-government. There is a short description of regional self-government as well. The communal self-government is analysed in more detail in the next part of the thesis. Here, municipal offices are presented with their authorities, activities and budgets. The budget process and its structure is described in the appendix to the thesis. The second part of the thesis describes Hodonín municipality in practice today. The structure of the municipal office and their interior departments according to activities and responsibilities are shown. The economy and financial budget from 2006 to 2009 is analysed in separate sections by revenues, grants, fixed costs, and capital costs. Finally, there is an overview of the charts for each year with recommendations to the municipal office regarding the obtaining of more grants for financing self-government.
