Abstract
The presented thesis describes the steps of the development and optimisation of method for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in moss samples collected in the Ostrava-Karvina region and the Polish borderland. The method includes the process of sample preparation by extraction, concentration, solvent exchange and determination of PAHs in the extract by high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. Concentrations of selected PAHs were determined by calibration curve. Determined concentrations of the individual PAHs coincide with the values obtained in earlier mosses regarding PAHs studies from different parts of the Czech Republic. This developed method was found useful for routine determination of PAHs in plant materials based on the evaluation
