Vliv kariéry profesionálních sportovců na jejich budoucí zaměstnání

Abstract

The thesis aims to investigate the influence of career of professional athletes to their future employment. Source of information comes from the questionnaire, which was sent to former athletes and data collection methodology is descriptive statistics. The first part of thesis includes theoretical aspects and factors affecting employability of the workforce. The second part is devoted to the employability of former professional athletes just at time, when they finish their active career even today. An analysis of the questionnaire shows that the unemployment rate of former athletes at the time when they finish their active career is 15%. This means that the comparison with the rate of youth unemployment in the labor market in the Czech Republic, whose situation in the transition to employment is similar, have a lower unemployment rate. Rate of unemployment of professional athletes is currently only 4% and is lower by 2.1% compared to the general rate of unemployment in the Czech Republic for the year 2014. Based on these results we can conclude that the former professional athletes have better employability in the labor market than the general population in the Czech Republic.
