Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on control activities in the field of prevention of major accidents. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the legal framework of the control of the prevention of major accidents, a description of the planning and the information system based on the law on the prevention of major accidents. The following is a description and comparison of the major accident prevention audit. In the practical part, the implementation of inspections in the EU and the Czech Republic is presented, where the number of inspections carried out is shown in graphs. Attention is also paid to the course of inspections from the point of view of inspectors and companies in the EU and the Czech Republic. The following is a comparison of the course of inspections in selected EU countries with the Czech Republic, followed by a graphical comparison of inspections. Recommendations on the use of near miss reports are also given. The conclusion of this work is to propose recommendations for the Czech Republic.
