Abstract

The subject of this diploma thesis is motorcycle helmets, which serve as a fundamental protective element for riders of single-track and selected two-track motor vehicles. The introductory part of the thesis focuses on the description, types, construction of helmets, and a brief overview of accident statistics involving motorcycle riders. The following chapter outlines the legal framework for helmet use as well as the standards according to which resistance testing is conducted. The final chapter of the thesis defines the approach for the practical assessment of helmet resistance, including subsequent experimental testing and evaluation of the results.
